Difficult Airway Course: EMS December 2022

Are you nervous about the difficult airway scenario?  Do you want to practice or challenge your airway skills?  Do you want to learn new airway management techniques and tricks?  Are you interested in trying out a variety of airway management techniques and tools?  Are you interested in learning or improving your knowledge and skills for RSI?

This is a 2 day hands-on course where you will have the opportunity to learn and practice a wide range of airway management techniques for adult and pediatric patients, including the use of extraglottic devices, Medic*tion-assisted intubation, video laryngoscopy and other advanced imaging devices, SALAD and cricothyrotomy.  Lunch will be provided both days and there are optional lectures during the lunch break. 

• Learn the full range of airway management techniques — including use of video laryngoscopes & other advanced imaging devices, extraglottic devices, drug-assisted intubation and cricothyrotomy.
• Work with expert faculty who know the unique challenges facing EMS providers.
• Use proven airway devices in small group sessions.
• Practice decision-making and airway techniques in Code AirwayTM simulations.
• Face the most challenging patient scenarios in a no-risk environment. These include: elevated ICP, pulmonary edema, cardiogenic shock, status asthmaticus foreign body in the airway, direct airway trauma, multiple trauma with shock, and many more.

This continuing education activity is approved by First Airway, LLC, an organization accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE). CAPCE Activity #19-FirstAir-F2-0001. CEH Number and Type: 16.0 Advanced.

Air & Surface Transport Nurse's Association (ASTNA) has approved the course for 16.0 Contact Hours.

What is the refund policy?

Due to the cost of purchasing and renting the necessary supplies and equipment, refunds are only available if cancellations are received more than 30 days prior to the event.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

What if I don't have an EMS license?

Non-EMS providers such as RNs, PAs, NPs, MDs and students are eligible to take this course but are not eligible for CAPCE credit.

What is the schedule? 

Day 1 runs 8am-5:30pm. There is an optional capnography lecture during lunch for those who are interested.

Day 2 runs 8am-5:15pm. There is an optional ventilator alarm management lecture during lunch for those who are interested.
