Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo (pronounced “fig-a-ray-doe”) releases his sixth album on Arbors Records, “I Love Samba” in August 2024. This brilliant new album from this masterfully creative guitarist, features two legendary Brazilian musicians, Nilson Matt on bass, and Dudaka da Fonseca on drums, both of Trio da Paz fame.
Some people are simply meant to be musicians. Diego Figueiredo is one. He was born in 1980 in Franca, São Paulo State, and began playing music at four years old. Now, in 2025, he has conquered the world. Diego has recorded over two dozen albums, both solo and in collaboration with others, and constantly tours all over the globe. He can no longer be downplayed as a “rising star” among the world’s great guitarists – he is now inarguably among the established elite. His skills on his instrument are matched only by his ability to move freely between styles, and his sublime technique is paired with an exquisite ability to vary his playing so that it radiates with unwavering excitement.
Diego has played in more than 60 countries. He is the winner of several important competitions including The Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition.
Diego has recorded and performed with Brazil’s biggest stars including Gilberto Gil, João Bosco, Roberto Menescal, Toquinho, Fafá de Belém, Angela Maria, Toninho Horta, and several years touring the world with Belchior.
Ella & The Bossa Beat is an international father-daughter duo between the 25-year old 'new rising star of the Jazz generation' singer/pianist Ella Blu, and Grammy-nominated drummer Magrus Borges, who played with Astrud Gilberto, Bebel Gilberto, Grace Jones & many other legends. They present a Jazz Soul style with Brazilian Jazz influences.
In November 2022, Ella and Magrus released their second album titled “In the Moment” which introduces all original compositions, representing a soulful and classy style, receiving ranking #8 on the national Latin Charts, and #15 on the national Jazz Album Charts.
Ella Blu, 'the new rising star of the Jazz generation' was born in Miami and raised in Brazil. Ella sings in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. In addition to singing, she plays piano, and composes gorgeous songs.
Magrus Borges is a Grammy-nominated drummer, percussionist, composer, and producer from Belem-Para, Brazil. He has played and recorded with many international artists such as: Astrud Gilberto, Bebel Gilberto (Grammy-nominated for her album "Agora"), Shakira, Grace Jones, Tania Maria, Larry Coryell, Caetano Veloso, Luis Melodia, Johnny Alf, among many others.
