About this Event

TALE OF THE BLOODY FEATHER

1896. Two puzzling clues at a crime scene send Detective Dickson (Brian Otto) and Isabel Bruce (Kate Gayman) in opposite directions. While Dickson digs into old land deeds of the Mennonites, Izzy treads into tribal territory for answers to ancient customs.

Meanwhile, Hamilton detective, Demetrius Shevchenko (William Brezden), and Toronto Pinkerton agent, Evelyn Parks (Jen Barton), are chasing down a smuggling ring. To top it off, Ontario’s Chief Investigator, John Wilson Murray (Mike Vanderloo), considers all of these cases to be his!

Each twist and turn along the way leads them all to a startling discovery.

This year's episode 7 features such historical characters as:

Carl Ahrens, a good friend of Homer Watson, who went on to one of Canada's finest landscape artists

Ezra Eby, Waterloo County's most illustrious historians of the Mennonites who came here to live

E. Pauline Johnson, the celebrated recitalist who brought Mohawk culture to life on stage

Jacob Stroh, a Waterloo historian, teacher, and archeologist who specialized in tribal villages

James Esson and Charles Ottman, two early photographers who were as different as they were talented

John Wilson Murray, Ontario's first provincial detective who solved hundreds of crimes and mysteries
