Our Dickens Caroling Ensemble brings the magic of a Victorian Christmas to life through music, character, and storytelling.
Dressed in era-appropriate costumes, our singers perform traditional Christmas carols from before 1850—just as they would have been heard in Dickens’ time. Whether strolling through a festive crowd or performing for a seated audience, we stay in character to create an immersive, joyful experience.
For the audition, prepare to sing one traditional Christmas Carol a cappella. If you are interested in a speaking part during our skits, you will also read from our audition side. Schedule your audition time at: https://unsanctionedrehearsals.org/dickens-caroling-ensemble/ If cast, there is a $10 cast fee to help with performance expenses.
Some performances will involve walking and caroling in the traditional style, while others will be staged performances for an audience. At times, we’ll also interact with attendees in character and perform a few very short skits. You do not have to take a speaking role to participate. The goal is for this to be a fun, festive experience filled with holiday cheer, music and a little old-fashioned revelry. This group is open to adults 18+.
