Dice: A Midsummer Night's Dream

Our production begins inside the Glenn Hughes Penthouse Theatre on the University of Washington campus. During the performance, the audience will move outdoors where we will have limited blankets and folding chairs, so bring your own!

Dice: A Midsummer Night’s Dream puts a playfully surreal twist on Shakespeare’s most magical comedy, with an audience roaming outdoors, fairy hive-minds hopping between actors’ bodies, and an enchanting underscoring by a live band. In this raucous fantastical farce, a troupe of hapless artists sets out to put on the show of their lives, but rehearsal in the woods quickly gets out of hand when warring fairies and heartsick lovers stumble into play. No two shows at our enchanted fairground will be the same, so plan to come again and again!

In Dacha’s innovative Dice format, an ensemble of actors memorizes the entire script of a Shakespeare show and the roles are randomized at the start of each performance. Please note that actors do not perform in every show. Details and actor schedules will be available in early July.
