join Djapo Cultural Arts Institute for Diaspora Day of Dance. A full-day celebration of movement, music, culture, and connection.
For one extraordinary day, the studio transforms into a living crossroads of the African diaspora and its global influences, bringing together master artists, musicians, and culture bearers for an immersive experience unlike any other.
Explore 10 dynamic workshops that celebrate the rhythms, histories, and traditions that continue to shape communities around the world. Throughout the day, participants will experience the energy, beauty, and cultural significance of traditions including West African Dance & Drumming, Dunham Technique, Bomba, Flamenco, Samba, Indian Dance, Vogue, Hip Hop, Polynesian and more.
Feel the heartbeat of live drumming, dance alongside a live DJ, enjoy delicious food, connect with special guest artists, and build community with dancers, musicians, families, and culture lovers from across Northeast Ohio and beyond.
Whether you attend one workshop or spend the entire day with us, you'll experience more than dance—you'll experience history in motion, traditions passed from generation to generation, and the powerful ways movement continues to unite people across cultures.
