Biographie

Diana Cooper ist Preisträgerin zahlreicher internationaler Wettbewerbe; darunter 1. Preis beim Samson-François-Internationalen Wettbewerb (Frankreich, 2025), 1. Preis beim Halina-Czerny-Stefańska-Wettbewerb in Poznań (Polen, 2022), 1. Preis beim Internationalen Klavierwettbewerb von Vigo (Spanien, 2022) sowie 1. Preis beim Chopin-Wettbewerb in Brest (Frankreich, 2017). 2025 wurde Diana Cooper für die Teilnahme am 19. Internationalen Chopin-Wettbewerb in Warschau im Oktober 2025 ausgewählt. Sie setzte sich dabei unter 642 Bewerber:innen durch und gehörte zu den 84 zugelassenen Pianist:innen.

Konzertengagements führten sie zu zahlreichen renommierten Festivals und Spielstätten, darunter: Chopin-Festival Nohant, Chopin-Festival Paris (Bagatelle), die Salle Cortot, Internationalen Festivals von Colmar und Menton, Ysaye-Festival (Belgien), Kings Place in London, Teatro Filarmónica in Oviedo, Teatro Jovellanos Gijón, Filharmonia Kielce (Polen), Chopin-Herrenhäuser in Duszniki und Żelazowa Wola sowie Hrvatski dom Split (Kroatien).Als Teilnehmerin von Un Été en France avec Gautier Capuçon (2023 und 2024) konzertierte sie sowohl solistisch als auch kammermusikalisch in verschiedenen Regionen Frankreichs, darunter Grand Est, Hauts-de-France und Korsika.

Auch Medien wurden auf sie aufmerksam: Auftritte und Porträts erschienen u. a. bei France Musique (Générations Jeunes Interprètes, 2018), France 5 (Fauteuils d’orchestre, 2023) sowie in einer von der BBC gefilmten Masterclass mit Yuja Wang (2024).

Gefördert von der Fondation Banque Populaire, der Fondation Safran und der Kirckman Concert Society (UK), arbeitete Diana Cooper mit verschiedenen Orchestern zusammen und interpretierte u. a. Chopins Klavierkonzert Nr. 1 mit der Orkiestra Symfoniczna Filharmonii Kaliskiej.

Im Jahr 2023 wurde ihr Debütalbum mit Werken von Haydn, Chopin und Ravel veröffentlicht, das im Anschluss an ihren 1. Preis beim Wettbewerb zur Förderung junger Künstler:innen des Festival du Vexin entstand.

Diana Cooper wurde in Tarbes geboren; ihre Mutter ist französisch-spanischer, ihr Vater britischer Herkunft. Sie absolvierte ihr Studium am Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), an der École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot sowie am Royal College of Music in London. Zu ihren wichtigsten Lehrer:innen zählen Jean-François Heisser, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Rena Shereshevskaya, Norma Fisher und Philippe Giusiano. Weitere künstlerische Impulse erhielt sie durch die Arbeit mit Cédric Tiberghien an der Philippe-Jaroussky-Akademie (2022–2023).

Biography

Diana Cooper has won multiple on the international stages, including first prizes at the Samson François International Competition (France, 2025), the Halina Czerny-Stefańska Competition in Poznań (Poland, 2022), the Vigo International Piano Competition (Spain, 2022), and at the Chopin Competition in Brest (France, 2017). Diana Cooper was among the 84 pianists from 642 applicants selected to participate in the 19th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in October 2025.

She has been invited to perform at numerous prestigious festivals and venues — including the Chopin Festival in Nohant and Paris (Bagatelle), Salle Cortot, the Colmar and Menton International Festivals, the Ysaye Festival (Belgium), Kings Place (London), Teatro Filarmónica in Oviedo (Spain), Teatro Jovellanos (Gijón), Filharmonia in Kielce (Poland), the Chopin manor houses in Duszniki and Żelazowa Wola, and Hrvatski dom Split (Croatia). In 2023 and 2024 she was selected for Un Été en France avec Gautier Capuçon and performed both as a soloist and in chamber music across various regions of France, including Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, and Corsica.

Her performances have also led to critical acclaim by press and media such as France Musique (Générations Jeunes Interprètes, 2018), France 5 (Fauteuils d’orchestre, 2023), as well as a BBC-filmed masterclass with Yuja Wang (2024). Supported by the Banque Populaire Foundation, the Safran Foundation, and the Kirckman Concert Society (UK), she collaborated with several orchestras, notably performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Orkiestra Symfoniczna Filharmonii Kaliskiej. In 2023, Diana released her first album, dedicated to Haydn, Chopin, and Ravel, following her First Prize win at the Young Artists Support Competition organized by the Festival du Vexin.

Born in Tarbes to a Franco-Spanish mother and a British father, Diana Cooper is a graduate from the CNSMDP (the Paris Conservatoire), the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot, and the Royal College of Music in London. Her main professors over the years include Jean-François Heisser, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Rena Shereshevskaya, Norma Fisher and Philippe Giusiano. She also honed her skills with Cédric Tiberghien at the Philippe Jaroussky Academy (2022–2023).
