The Pulitzer Arts Foundation marks its 25th anniversary with Dialogues & Conversations, a landmark exhibition organized by founder and chair Emily Rauh Pulitzer. At its heart, the exhibition explores how artists “speak” to one another across time—revealing connections that transcend era, style, and medium.

Spanning three centuries, the exhibition brings together more than 80 works—sculpture, drawing, painting, print, and photography—drawn largely from Mrs. Pulitzer’s personal collection. Featuring 35 artists, including Edgar Degas, Willem de Kooning, Dan Flavin, Alberto Giacometti, Jasper Johns, Donald Judd, Bruce Nauman, and Doris Salcedo, the exhibition invites us to consider how form, material, and intention resonate across generations—how ideas circulate, evolve, and re-emerge in new and unexpected ways.

Our visit will be guided by Curatorial Associate Molly Moog, who worked closely with Mrs. Pulitzer to shape and realize the exhibition. Together, we will explore how the installation itself —through placement, proximity, and spatial dialogue—deepens our understanding of the works and the relationships between them.

The Pulitzer Arts Foundation is renowned for fostering an intimate viewing experience, encouraging close engagement with art in a setting that reflects Mrs. Pulitzer’s original vision and her ongoing commitment to thoughtful, immersive encounters.

We hope you will join us for what promises to be a rich and engaging exploration of art across time.

The group will meet inside the front entrance.

ADMISSION: Reservation is encouraged for this free Art Collaborative event. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability.

PARKING: Complimentary parking in the lot adjacent to the museum and metered street parking are available. Accessible parking is available in the lot. All levels of the museum are accessible by elevator, and visitors may borrow a standard, manual wheelchair during their visit.

WHAT IS THE ART COLLABORATIVE? An interactive, dynamic forum designed to connect art to people and people with art. Facilitated by artist Judith Shaw, this initiative aims to draw together a diverse, creative community of artists and art enthusiasts interested in sharing ideas, inspiration, resources, and information about what drives their creative passion, process, and purpose. The group meets quarterly in art venues, including artists’ studios, for hands-on, immersive experiences. Our goal is to foster cross-pollination among innovative institutions, organizations, and neighborhoods to showcase the vibrant art landscape in our region.
