About this Event
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Workshops
Join Illume: The Behavioral Health Center of Excellence from starting Thursday, December 12th-13th, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (Central)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced based treatment that has been shown to be effective in treating individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, suicidal behaviors, self-injurious behaviors, and pervasive emotional dysregulation. However, not all clients present symptoms warranting the full model of DBT. These clients would still benefit from learning and applying DBT skills to their everyday lives.
This series of three workshops will help clinicians differentiate which clients would benefit from the full model of DBT; gain a basic orientation to DBT; and add DBT skills to their therapeutic toolkit. The workshops will teach DBT skills using hands on activities that can easily be applied in a variety of therapeutic settings. The presentation is open to the public. This event will be open to the community with limited spots available, capping at 15 total sign ups.
This training is presented by Emily Dreher, LPC, NCC, DBT-LC.
Emily Dreher, LPC, NCC, DBT-LBC is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Linehan Board Certified DBT Clinician with clinical experience providing outpatient therapy and in home crisis counseling. Her specialties include working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder using Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Prolonged Exposure. Emily is also an Adjunct Lecturer in the Applied Health Behavior Research graduate program at Washington University.
** When someone registers, they are registering for the entire series.
