UUCSH is hosting a Dia de Los Muertos celebration in person on Saturday, November 1, beginning at 12 noon. This is part of the culture of our members and friends, who will be leading the celebration and teaching about traditions associated with this holiday. All are welcome!If you plan to join, please RSVP at this site (https://signup.com/go/WmSWuYy) and bring a picture of a loved one who has passed away.
Dia de Los Muertos is a celebration—a happy occasion!—and a way to feel connected to people (and pets) we care about who have died. Please also bring something your loved one enjoyed during their life. It can be food or an item, such as a book, toy, or other small memento. This is an important part of creating the ofrenda (altar).
Some of the food will go on the ofrenda and some will be eaten and shared. The ofrenda will be left in Fellowship Hall for two nights, so please bring something you don’t mind leaving for that length of time. Please come and bring your photos, items, and dishes to share even if all the signup spots are filled. All are welcome!
On Monday, November 3 at 6 pm, you’re welcome to join folks gathering in Fellowship Hall to help take down the ofrenda.
