Dia de los Muertos at Hemisfair 2024

The 12th Annual Día de los Muertos (Muertos Fest) at Hemisfair returns this Fall to downtown San Antonio on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27.

Popularly known as Muertos Fest, this beloved San Antonio event is one of the largest Day of the Dead celebrations in the United States. San Antonio is home to one of the country's largest celebrations of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead: a Mexican holiday to honor deceased loved ones that occurs around Halloween. This free, two-day event at the end of October is held at Hemisfair in San Antonio – the site of the 1968 World's Fair that's now being transformed into an urban neighborhood.

The festival showcases elaborate altars, live music, art vendors, and other activities highlighting Mexican heritage. Don't miss the colorful processions filled with dancers, puppets, and even mobile altars.
