Dhrupad
For yet another soulful evening at Khoj, we invite you to experience Dhrupad, India’s oldest living musical tradition. Revered as the foundation from which North Indian classical music evolved, Dhrupad is known for its depth, serenity, and meditative quality. Its meditative soundscape invites listeners on an inner journey, making it deeply enriching for both meditation and music therapy.
This time, we are honored to host Chintan Upadhyay, a young maestro who has dedicated over 23 years to the practice of Dhrupad. A senior disciple of Pandit Uday Bhawalkar ji, Chintan ji has performed at prestigious venues and festivals including the NCPA, Ustad Allarakha Sangeet Sammelan, and Yuva Dhrupad Festival. His music has also resonated with audiences across Canada, United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Austria.
As the founder of the Alembic Dhrupad Foundation in Vadodara, he is committed to preserving, teaching, and carrying this timeless tradition forward.
Join us and discover the journey within through the meditative power of Dhrupad.
