Dharma Day Festival: The Greatest Gift

“The gift of the Dhamma surpasses all gifts. The taste of the Dhamma surpasses all tastes. Delight in the Dhamma surpasses all delights. The destruction of craving overcomes all suffering.” – Dhammapada, verse 354
The annual Dharma Day Festival celebrates the moment 2,500 years ago when the Buddha taught the Dharma to his companions for the first time. Truly, it was the greatest of all possible gifts – and so “The Greatest Gift” is our theme for this year’s celebration.
The day will begin with our usual Learn to Meditate class at 10–11am, followed by a lively, interactive programme of teaching, discussion and debate. A festival puja in the afternoon will draw the celebrations to a close.
All are welcome to drop in for individual sessions or stay for the whole day. Sessions are offered on a donation basis, drawing upon the Buddhist practice of dana – generosity. Please give what you can to support us to share the great gift of the Buddha’s teachings more widely.
