Orthodontics - on for young and old! & The role of Orthodontics in periodontal management -Dr Tom EthellProposed learning objectives:
- Learn to identify which patients require early referral (in the primary and early mixed dentition) for an orthodontic opinion.
- Understand and be able to discuss with patients and parents, the possible management of certain malocclusions in the the primary and early mixed dentition.
- Understand which adult patients may benefit from comprehensive or limited orthodontic treatment, particularly including its role in long term periodontal stability
- Confidently write referrals to an Orthodontist where appropriate and understand the terminology in the returned reports
- Understand the timing for routine OPGs in growing patients and under what circumstances an OPG is warranted.
- Understand the indications for CBCT and its place in orthodontic practice
