PLACE CLAIREFONTAINE
>> ICE IN MY EYES (LU) <<
It’s as if the sound of the 80’s had become an uncontrollable beast that catches you by the ears, takes over your feet and makes you dance. Based in Luxembourg, Ice in My Eyes currently features Olivier Treinen (vocals), Ben Thommes (guitar), Luc Hoffmann (drums), Marc Clement (synths) and Mike Koster (bass & synths).
>> TAKESHI’S CASHEW (AT/DE) <<
Highway, dancefloor, solitary beach - Takeshi's Cashew soundtrack every scenario. Wildly combined and arranged with flair.
Somewhere between music school strivers and anarcho band, the six musicians test melodic and rhythmic boundaries. Only the biggest nerds know all the instruments that Takeshi’s Cashew drag to their gigs. Lovely melodies, funny flutes, various percussion and selected old-fashioned synthesizers with a constant breeze of echo catapult the listeners back into the ideal hippie world, only to bring them back down to earth shortly afterwards.
>> ADA ODA (BE) <<
Italian post-punk from the Brussels underground? Ada Oda offers an energetic blend of music at the crossroads of eighties rock and Italian pop. The project was initiated in 2020 by César Laloux (The Tellers, BRNS, Italian Boyfriend) with Victoria Barracato on vocals.
On stage and in the studio, the duo is accompanied by Clément Marion on bass (David Numwami, Judith Kiddo), Alex De Bueuger on drums (Alaska Gold Rush, Gros Cœur) and Aurélien Gainetdinoff (San Malo, Yolande Bashing) on guitar.
>> CARI CARI (AT) <<
Cari Cari is Stephanie Widmer (Vocals, Drums & Didgeridoo) and Alexander Koeck (Vocals, Guitars). The duo lived in London, Hamburg and Madrid before releasing their debut album “Anaana”. They were called “the lovechild of The Kills and The **” (IndieShuffle, US) “with the raw grit of a Cat Power record” (BestBefore, AUS) and “a pinch of Ennio Morricone ” (FM4, AUT). Since their inception, Cari Cari have been tirelessly working to create their own world, carefully crafting everything from their music to their artwork, videos to set design in-house.
This meticulous attention to detail has earned the band a loyal following; Rolling Stone Magazine called them ‘the biggest discovery of Primavera Sound Festival’, their die-hard fans sold out 1000+ capacity rooms across Europe and their debut album was praised by the likes of NME, KCRW, Rolling Stone, BBC Radio 1 and many more.
