Bassist, composer, bandleader, and educator Dezron Douglas has established himself as a major force in contemporary creative music. A protégé of Jackie McLean and named a DownBeat 2019 Rising Star, Douglas is widely recognized for his work with leading artists including Pharoah Sanders, Ravi Coltrane, Cyrus Chestnut, and David Murray. In 2021, he joined the Trey Anastasio Band.
Douglas has appeared on more than 100 recordings, collaborating with artists such as Keyon Harrold, Jonathan Blake, Melanie Charles, and Makaya McCraven. An active educator, he currently serves on the Jazz Studies faculty at NYU Steinhardt.
His latest album, Atalaya (International Anthem), has been widely praised by critics and audiences alike.
