DEYA Jazz Night with Jahari Stampley

Jahari Stampley is the 2023 International Herbie Hancock competition winner, and Chicago Tribune's Chicagoan of the Year in Jazz. He's an extremely talented pianist - Herbie Hancock even said of him "I've never heard anybody play quite like that... I was thinking, 'Maybe I should study with him'."

His first ever European gig at London's Ronnie Scott's in November was a sell out, and he is back in March (playing Ronnie Scott's 13 March) - so it's a thrill to secure him for a solo gig at The Swamp.

Jahari has toured with Stanley Clarke and is featured on Derrick Hodge's "Color of Noise" album, with performances at esteemed venues like Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall. His album 'Still Listening' rose to #1 on Apple iTunes in the first weeks of the album’s release. The album blends Stampley’s broad influences – from the church to electronica to the avant garde.
