About this Event

Devotional Yoga combines gentle yoga postures, meditative prayer, and heartfelt intentions so that we can reinforce our divine connection to God in a holistic way. In this class, we align our mind and body to clear the path for internal reflection and transformation. With conscious awareness of our blessings, we are reminded that we can serve as an instrument of our Higher Power and influence an abundance of goodness in our daily lives.

The physical benefits of yoga allow us to honor the blessing of our material bodies by improving strength, flexibility, bodily relaxation, and blood circulation. Meditative prayer is a spiritual practice that helps us focus on our communion with God in a contemplative manner. By setting heartfelt intentions, we’re reminded that ethical living and certain personal observances have a profound impact on how we connect with our fellow humans.

All Devotional Yoga classes are beginner friendly and meet weekly for one hour. No previous yoga experience required.

Classes will be led by Steven Villanueva Skees. Steven is a Registered Yoga Teacher and Continuing Education Provider with Yoga Alliance. He has over 900 hours of formal yoga training from around the world and currently owns two yoga studios on the Northwest side of Houston. Steven considers himself a student of life and practices yoga daily. He loves learning about God and loves spending time with his wife and three boys.
