Urban-to-Trail: Devil’s Punchbowl 11km Hike with Waypoint Crew x Salomon x Ellis Brigham + Post-Hike Social at Guinness Open Gate Brewery, London (20s–40s)
Join Waypoint Crew – London’s adventure community for people in their 20s–40s. We bring people together through guided hikes, weekends away and outdoor adventures.
For this special event, we’ve teamed up with Salomon and Ellis Brigham for an urban-to-trail hike. Meet at Ellis Brigham Covent Garden, get fitted with Salomon Quest demo boots, then travel together to Haslemere. You'll also have the chance to win your own pair!
From there, we’ll take on an 11km guided circular hike through the spectacular Devil’s Punch Bowl, exploring woodland trails, open heathland, rolling hills and panoramic Surrey views.
We’ll then make our way to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery, London, for an exclusive post-hike social, with your first drink courtesy of Salomon.
🗓️ Event Details
Date: Sunday 26th July 2026
Meet: 10:45 – Ellis Brigham, Covent Garden. Get fitted with your Salomon Quest demo boots and enter the competition to win a brand-new pair before we depart at 11:30 to head to London Waterloo (15-minute walk).
Train to Haslemere: London Waterloo to Haslemere (12:00–13:06). Please purchase an open return ticket.
Hike Briefing & Start: 13:30 – After a short briefing.
Distance: 11km (approximately 4-4.5 hours including breaks)
Difficulty: Moderate (with some steep climbs early on)
Route: Circular route via Devil's Punch Bowl, Gibbet Hill & Temple of the Four Winds.
Return Train: 18:17–19:14 – Haslemere to London Waterloo.
Post-Hike Social & Boot Return: From ~19:30 – Join us at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery, London, for a well-earned drink, courtesy of Salomon and return your Quest demo boots.
🥾 Meet Your Guides
Abi – A qualified Mountain Leader and weekend warrior who spends her time leading Waypoint Crew hikes, running women's adventure holidays and squeezing as much adventure as possible into weekends and annual leave.
Beth – Founder of Waypoint Crew, qualified Lowland Leader and Salomon Brand Ambassador. Beth has hiked everywhere from Everest Base Camp and Kilimanjaro to Patagonia and Machu Picchu, and loves helping more people discover the outdoors.
Jon – A qualified Lowland Leader and one of the guides behind Waypoint Crew's countryside hikes. When he's not on the trails, he's a freelance motion designer and the creative mind behind the Waypoint Crew brand. His adventures have taken him across New Zealand, the USA, Europe and to the summit of Kilimanjaro.

10:45 | Meet & Kit Up
Arrive at Ellis Brigham Covent Garden, meet the crew, and get fitted with your Salomon Quest demo hiking boots. Please arrive on time so we can get everyone fitted and ready to go. You’ll also have the chance to enter our competition to win a brand-new pair before we head off on the adventure. 👀
11:30 | Depart London
15-minute walk across the bridge to London Waterloo, where we’ll catch the group train to Haslemere: London Waterloo → Haslemere (12:00–13:06). Please purchase an open return ticket, as we may finish the hike earlier than expected, giving us more time to enjoy our post-hike social. Please make sure you bring your lunch for the train, as we will not be stopping for a picnic lunch on this hike.
13:30 | Hike Begins After a Quick Briefing
Meet your Waypoint Crew guides for a quick briefing and final kit checks before we set off. We’ll head straight into the Devil’s Punch Bowl, taking on the initial climbs before opening out to sweeping views across the Surrey Hills - the perfect terrain to put your Salomon boots to the test. 🥾
18:00 | Finish Hike
Return to Haslemere station after a full loop of varied terrain
18:17 | Train Back to London Waterloo
Scheduled 18:17 → 19:14. Please purchase an open return ticket, as we may finish the hike ahead of schedule and catch an earlier train back, giving us more time to enjoy our post-hike social at Guinness Open Gate Brewery, London
~19:30| Post-Hike Social at Guinness Open Gate Brewery, London
Head back to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery, London, for a relaxed post-hike social with Waypoint Crew x Salomon x Ellis Brigham. We’ll have exclusive access to a private room in the Guinness Vaults, the perfect place to unwind, grab a drink and chat after the hike.
