Announcing ‘DEVI, Part One’ by Rukhmani (Rina) Mehta, Artistic Director for Leela Los Angeles and Leela Youth Dance Company, co-produced with CounterPulse in San Francisco!'DEVI, Part One' is an exploration of Lakshmi and Saraswati, two goddesses often associated with natural elements - namely the earth in its fertility and abundance and water in its ability to renew and give life. India's goddesses provide an expansive and rich vision of the feminine in its full complexity, mystery, and potency. Each goddess represents a distinct and elemental aspect of the feminine. Through music, movement, and rhythm, these goddesses come to life, invoking our own essential feminine nature.
