Meet the Team and Develop Your Designs

Manchester Metropolitan University is delighted to host a STEM Racing Support Session on 11 November 2026.

This interactive session is a fantastic opportunity to discuss your design ideas, project developments, and proposals with a team of expert staff from Manchester Met. You'll be supported by Lecturers from Design and Engineering, alongside specialist Technical Staff, who will be on hand to offer guidance, feedback, and advice to help move your project forward.

During the session, we may explore topics such as:

• How forces impact a car's performance
• Design features that could help your car travel faster
• Factors that might cause your car to slow down
• Key scientific principles including friction, air resistance, gravity, and air pressure
• Developing ideas through sketching and visual communication
• Styling your car and creating a strong Visual Brand Language (VBL)
• Design for manufacture

Arrival Information

• Guests should arrive at the Dalton Building Reception between 12:45 and 13:00
• Travel arrangements should be made by attendees
• Manchester Met does not have on-site parking facilities available for guests; however, there are several nearby car parks. Details will be provided closer to the event
• The campus is well served by public transport links. Further information will be shared in advance
• Guests are welcome to bring their own lunch. There are spaces available to relax and eat before or after the session
• Alternatively, attendees can use Manchester Met's on-site restaurants and catering facilities, which operate on a cashless basis
