About this Event

Got an idea for a short film or a Feature script? Interested in writing a TV pilot? It all starts with a great idea, developing characters and a cracking script - and we want to help you to develop it.

This informative workshop will help you to hone your ideas, develop characters and story, and give you the confidence to approach your first draft of the script or the confidence to develop an idea. Plus tips on re-writing and the drafting process and further reading.

Our workshop will be led by Karla Williams

About Karla:

Karla has written on season 8 of the Kudos drama Grantchester for ITV and her audio drama Famous, is an Audible Original. She has also written for the podcast series Legacy for Wondery Media.

Her award-winning short film Pretty Bitch has been screened at festivals internationally, including BFI Future Film Festival and London Short Film Festival. She has also written two monologues for the anthology Hear Me Now: Audition Monologues for Actors of Colour, published by Oberon Books. Karla is co-writer and executive producer on an 8-part audio series currently in development with BAFTA-winning Hat Trick Podcast and the company she founded, MsMono.

She is a BAFTA Connect member, was selected for Momentum; the career development programme by We Are Parable supported by Channel 4 and Sony Pictures Television, and the Creative Access career development programme Thrive supported by Banijay.
