Developer presents his plan to BUILD A DATA CENTER to the Smithfield Township Planning Commission

SHOW UP TO PROTECT THE POCONOS!
Thursday, August 13th, developer DePetris will present his plan to build a data center at Smithfield Gateway, right behind St. Luke's (125 Smithfield Ln, East Stroudsburg).
He promised affordable housing and retail in this economic zone. Instead, he's going ahead with a plan to build a data center that benefits almost no one here, fewer than 10 jobs, in exchange for:
- Our WATER: millions of gallons a day to cool servers, drawn from the same aquifer that fills your well
- Our STREAMS + WILDLIFE : the natural landscape the entire Poconos economy depends on
- Our ELECTRIC + WATER BILLS: data centers strain the grid, and residential ratepayers cover the difference
- Our PEACE + QUIET: generators and cooling systems running 24/7, forever
- Our ENVIRONMENT: once it's zoned and built, it doesn't come back
Empty seats tell the township this doesn't matter. A packed room tells them it does.
