Join the Albert Kahn Legacy Foundation for a guided walk along Cass and Woodward, exploring multiple eras of Detroit design, cultural, and academic history through the buildings that shaped them. We’ll examine the classical ambitions of Cass Gilbert and Paul Philippe Cret, the institutional pragmatism and elegance of Albert Kahn, and the postwar modernism of Minoru Yamasaki — four architects whose work, taken together, charts the arc of American design from the Gilded Age through the mid-twentieth century.
