About this Event

We're excited to welcome Malik Yakini, founder of the Detroit Black Community Food Soverignity Network, D-Town Farms, Detroit Food Policy Council and Detroit People's Food Co-Op, as our keynote speaker Friday morning! He is a powerful, wise and insightful speaker and has been asked by organizations around the globe to share his knowledge on Black food soveriginty.
Thursday's sessions will feature a panel of founding DFPC members, a policy panel, and several exciting breakout sessions. Friday will be the keynote address, and the return of the Food Power Awards!

As we did last year, we are offering the option of a full price ticket for both days, for those who have institutional support or other resources that will allow them to help us offset the costs of the summit, as well as a a pay-what-you-can donation option so that everyone who wishes to join us can do so. We welcome everyone who wants to attend regardless of ability to pay.
