Step into the colourful world of Henri Matisse for a creative evening at Alliance Française Auckland.

Dessine et Trinque is a French-inspired creative workshop combining art, culture and wine in partnership with Maison Vauron.

For this second edition, join artist Béatrice Carlson for an inspiring introduction to the life and work of Henri Matisse. Through a short presentation, participants will discover the story behind his iconic paper cut-outs, his artistic vision, and the techniques that transformed simple shapes into vibrant works of art.

The evening will continue with a guided hands-on workshop, where participants will explore Matisse's famous cut-out technique by creating their own colourful collage inspired by his bold compositions and playful use of colour.

Rather than recreating a specific artwork, the experience encourages participants to experiment freely.

Enjoy a French-inspired evening, connect with fellow creatives, and leave with your own unique Matisse-inspired creation.
