Dessert Boys is a collection of standout musicians from Nevada County, coming together for their love of country music. The band features Shana Cleveland (lead singer/guitar goddess in La Luz), Will Sprott (keys in Shannon and the Clams), Anna Hilburg and others, including a sweet slide guitarist. People around here love La Luz and Shannon and the Clams. This show will offer a rare opportunity to experience cross-pollination and joyful collaboration between artists who don’t typically play together. On their own account, Dessert Boys are a Nevada County country band mining the slag heap of American music for strange ores, obscure gems, and sublime treasures. Featuring Whipcream Willy on guitar, Apple Pie Anna on guitar, Butterscotch Bill on guitar, Barry Cobbler on... you guessed it: guitar, Shortcake Shana on bass guitar, and Drumstick Dave on drums.
About the Supporting Act
Village of Spaces is comprised of core members Dan Beckman-Moon, painter Amy Moon O.S. and a rotating crew of multi-instrumentalists. Village of Spaces weaves together a narrative of personal mythos grounded in a familial musical tradition. They perform a combination of original material rooted in mystical psychedelic experimentalism. Much of this stems from Amy’s mother’s catalog of original folk tunes from the 70’s and compositions that Dan learned during his time performing with folk revivalist, woodcarver and political/spiritual activist, Gordon Bok.
