Desire Delayed

A THEATER PRODUCTION IN THE STREETS OF NEW YORK CITY

The street serves as the stage. The audience sits behind a large storefront on the Avenue of the Americas and 44th Street, which serves as the setting for the play. The performers are equipped with microports. Only the audience behind the storefront can hear what they say as the performers mingle into busy street life.
Our characters tell little stories of a complicated world, in this short moment of their existence in which we are observing them - sometimes unnoticed, sometimes bizarre, intimate and funny. While the audience can only see the street, the scenes are defined by the live editing of the sound.
The story unfolds between sirens, city sounds, voices and the wild figures of New York, causing the spectators' view to wander from character to character - from the couple at the bus stop to the food truck, into the passing car and to the doormen on the other side of the street.
The production is presented by a diverse cast of performers, actors and musicians from New York and Vienna, accompanied by the singer ELSA, as well as Florentin Scheicher, Jakob Lang and Florian Röthel, also known from the popular Viennese band Buntspecht.
