DesignTinkers 5-day Holiday Camp 4* (Jul)

Join us for an exciting 5-day Holiday Camp where children dive into a world of creativity and innovation! Designed to spark curiosity, this hands-on camp invites kids to explore a variety of make-and-build projects; encouraging experimentation, enhancing dexterity, and strengthening both creative and critical thinking skills. Each day brings a new opportunity to learn, create, and have fun through purposeful play and exploration.

Over Day 1 and 2, students will explore the future of habitation by designing a home on Mars. After examining the environmental challenges unique to the Red Planet, participants will construct a detailed Martian land base featuring realistic hills and terrain. This hands-on process transitions into strategic space planning, where students must balance architectural creativity with the functional necessities of survival, including air supply, water, electricity, and sustainable farming for long-term habitation.

On Day 3 and 4, students will embark on the next project to re-imagine Communal Play + Space, exploring the elements that make a playground truly memorable. Working in collaborative groups, they will apply Design Thinking principles to empathize with diverse user needs and tackle creative challenges.

A core focus will be inclusive play, as students brainstorm ways to ensure their spaces remain accessible to people of all ages and abilities. This hands-on journey guides them through the full process of brainstorming, making, and building their ultimate dream playground.

On Day 5, students will get creative planning and building up a treehouse design. With a real tree branch as their site context, they'll explore form, features, levels, platforms, and openings, thinking creatively about how their treehouse will look and function. They will learn how to provide proper support and access, bringing their imaginative designs to life through thoughtful construction.

With extensive experience working with children, our instructors are dedicated to nurturing each student’s creative interests in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment. All our camps are held in our spacious and conducive classrooms where students can create and explore freely under guidance.
