Topic: Design Your Own Vegetable Garden!
This is the ultimate opportunity to get a jump start on the growing season with expert advice from Matthew Ross, Executive Director of The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park. This class will walk you through the steps of designing your very own vegetable garden and share tools with you that can be applied in your vegetable garden for the ultimate success in growing the perfect tomato and the tastiest spinach you've ever eaten. The class concludes with a brief seed swap where you will take home a minimum of 5 different varieties of plants to try in 2025!
Please bring pictures of your vegetable garden area and dimensions of the area.
About our Instructor
Matthew Ross is the Executive Director of The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park. Before coming to Traverse City, he worked as the Continuing Education Director at Longwood Gardens overseeing over 200 programs in horticulture, landscape design, and floristry. He is nationally recognized as leader in horticulture and gardening and has a BS and MS from Michigan State University in Horticulture Science with an emphasis in Landscape Design Construction Management and Urban Forestry respectively.
