Design X Nature: Workshop - Nature Journaling in the Drylands
Advertisement
A guided nature journaling experience within Soft Meadow Collective’s Field Furniture installation as part of the Design X Nature exhibition. Set amongst the seasonal flowers and grasses of the Australian Drylands Precinct, this workshop invites participants to slow down, rest, and engage deeply with the living landscape through drawing, writing, mapping, and observation. Using the Field Furniture installation as a place for contemplation and discovery, participants will explore the gardens through both macro and micro perspectives—from tree canopies and birdlife overhead to grasses, wildflowers, textures, and insect activity at their feet.
Nature journaling is a practice of curiosity rather than artistic skill, encouraging attentive observation, reflection, and connection with place. Participants will leave with practical journaling techniques and a richer appreciation of the ecologies, materials, and stories that shape the living collection at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne.
Journaling materials will be provided. No artistic experience is required.
Bookings required.
