what this is actually about
most students spend years preparing for exams without ever stopping to ask: is this actually what i want to do? design is one of the most expansive, in-demand fields out there — and also one of the most misunderstood. this workshop exists to change that.
three days, before any decision is made, to actually experience what design is, see everything it covers, and figure out for yourself whether this is worth pursuing.

sonam is an interaction designer with 5+ years of experience, currently mentoring young designers at evolve. she switched into design herself — so she knows what it's like to not know, to be stuck between options, and to eventually figure it out. she's not here to give a lecture. she's here to show you what design actually is and help you figure out if it's for you.
what you'll do each day
day 01
what is design?
bust every assumption you had about it
you'll sort images, critique everyday objects, debate what's designed vs what's just pretty, and sketch your first redesign. you'll also get a proper breakdown of all the major fields — visual design, interaction design, product design, fashion, architecture, interior design, and more — what each one is, what's different, and where they overlap. outcome: you'll actually understand what design is — and have a real sense of the different directions you could go.
day 02
seeing visually
start looking at everything differently
you'll learn to read visual design, take apart real brands, and make a poster — first digitally, then with paper and markers. gallery walk with feedback from the room. outcome: you'll never look at a logo or a layout the same way again.
day 03
designing for humans
do a real design project, start to finish
you'll interview someone, define a problem, sketch 8 ideas in 8 minutes, prototype one, and present it. you'll also get a clear picture of how to actually get into design — entrance exams, institutes worth knowing about, books to read, and free resources to start with right away. outcome: you'll know what a designer's job actually feels like — and you'll leave with a concrete plan if you decide to go for it.

a real answer to "is design for me?" — based on experience, not guesswork. stuff you made. an understanding of tools and next steps if you want to keep going. and direct access to someone who's been exactly where you are.
