“It should be easy, you know. I love you. You love me. You love Otto. I love Otto. Otto loves you. Otto loves me. There now! Start to unravel from there.” Noel Coward’s sparkling 1932 romantic comedy follows the entanglements between three bickering bohemian artists – an interior decorator, a playwright, and a painter – trying to follow their hearts (and impulses), not the rules. Is a (love) triangle the most beautiful shape of all?

"Design for Living" is part of Head Trick's 2025-26 season "Love and Truth": a season about who we love, and what the limits of that love are. The season opened in August with "Dr. Korczak and the Children"; "Agnes de Castro" will follow in March.
ABOUT HEAD TRICK THEATRE
Head Trick Theatre is a performing group based in Providence, RI that puts on innovative productions of classic plays with a focus on the importance of liveness. Recent productions include “Dr. Korczak and the Children”, Erwin Sylvanus's metatheatrical drama about actors trying to put themselves in the shoes of the Holocaust's victims and villains; “The Lucky Chance”, Aphra Behn's riotous sex farce satirizing marriage, money, and misogyny; and “R.U.R.”, Karel Čapek's farsighted thriller about robot rights. "Head Trick Theatre is clearly fighting above its weight in Providence’s theatrical ecosystem...such bold choices have led to creative accomplishments and no shortage of accolades." --Bob Abelman of The Boston Globe/Motif Magazine
