Design + Architecture: 4-day Camp 3

A 4-day Holiday Camp designed for children to explore various make and build projects; to test ideas through hands-on exploration, training dexterity, creative and critical thinking while learning new skills.

On Day 1, children will Design a Mobile Home.

Students get to think out of the box, where their home has wheels that will take them around the world; across cities, deserts and mountainous terrains.

Students learn a tiny home has lower environmental impact as it requires less materials to build, takes up less land, uses less electricity and produces less emissions, therefore making them more sustainable.

Their mobile home designs will consider energy efficiency, water collection and recycling features, raising awareness to design a sustainable home.

On Day 2 to 4, students will Design a Home for their Family.

Students will apply Design Thinking principles in understanding the needs and challenges of who they are designing for and be introduced to the basics of space planning for a home.

Students will translate their 2D planning to 3D model with consideration for architectural scale, light, ventilation, views and communal landscape areas in their design. They will learn basic model-making skills and get creative transforming everyday materials into their individual home model prototype. Every child’s home design will be different and unique catered to their needs!

DesignTinkers camps are specially designed and led by instructors who are architects, designers and educators with the passion and experience of working with young children to nurture their creative interests. Camps are held in our spacious and conducive classroom for kids to create and explore freely under guidance.

Note: If arriving by car, there is direct drop-off to the centre at Level 4 Carpark.

Price includes 2x snacks and lunch. All materials will be provided.
