Join us for an interactive design exhibition and panel discussion about how technology can be used to enhance accessibility and inclusivity
About this Event

On Thursday 13th of April, you're invited to join us at Innoleaps for an interactive design exhibition and panel discussion.

Our panel discussion will address the question of people-centered design: how can technology be used to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in design?

In an increasingly globalized world, and with newly developed technologies launching daily, how can we use them to ensure that design is accessible and inclusive for as large a population as possible? How does this affect the design workflow and process? What are the ethical implications that need to be considered?

We will be joined by the following experts:

Tom van Arman

Tom van Arman is a Smart City Architect helping local governments create blueprints for future living environments. He is the founder and director of Tapp.nl, an ethical urban tech consultancy group that uses Open Data, AI, and Digital Twins to bridge the gap between the built environment and new digital landscape.

He is a regular advisor to the City of Amsterdam, AMS-Institute (Advanced Metropolitan Solutions), Bureau Marineterrein, Amsterdam Chief Technology Office, Amsterdam Smart City & Amsterdam Economic Board.

Tizian Fendt & Melisa Akkoc

Tizian is an Amsterdam-based digital designer, born and raised in Germany. Launching his own fashion label at the age of 16, Tizian transitioned to freelance web design, designing and coding digital experiences for 5+ years. Completing his Masters in Digital Design M.Sc. in Amsterdam, Tizian recently joined digital agency JUST based in The Hague to establish and scale their UX department.

Melissa Akkoc is an Amsterdam-based multidisciplinary designer with a background in Art Direction. Her strength lies in creating concepts, campaigns, and identities that are impactful. By considering culture and technology she aims to create holistic experiences driven by strong insights. She has a wide range of skills from animation to physical installations, opening the doors to unique ideas. Melissa followed her studies in Advertising at SVA New York with a Master in Digital Design at HvA Amsterdam. She worked with well-known clients such as Jeep, Maidenform, and OBA Bibliotheek. She is currently working as a UI designer at JUST.

Muhcine Ennou

Muhcine Ennou is a self-taught Moroccan artist currently living in Amsterdam. His broad range of interests led him to teach himself photography, CGI and film. This has produced a hybrid practice in which these media feature in interdisciplinary cross-overs. His working process often results in the combination of analog and digital techniques in visual art, that has an ability to transform the familiar into an unfamiliar encounter.
