About this Event

Authenticity: A Gut Check

An opportunity for a personal "gut check" as to why you podcast and what you podcast about. Despite the pressure from social media to "follow the crowd" to broadcast the latest trends and topics, there is a lack of will to be "authentic". There is only one YOU and your reasons, your "fire", your "truth" that you need to share with the world is unique and should not be quenched - no matter how off the "beaten path" it may seem. This presentation will help you to focus on what is important and should clarify the reasons for why you do what you do.

About the Facilitator:

Kenneth J. Chester Jr. is a prominent figure in the automotive and technology industry. He is currently the CEO of TechMobility Productions Inc., a company that focuses on mobility and technology news. Ken also hosts The TechMobility Show, The TechMobility Minute, and TechMobility In Focus programs as well as The TechMobility Podcast and TechMobility Topics Podcast each week that cover a wide range of topics from electric cars and autonomous big rigs to personal privacy and security issues.

Ken's career spans nearly three decades, during which he has established himself as a nationally syndicated automotive journalist. His expertise in the field is well-recognized, and he has made regular appearances in newspapers, TV, radio and podcasts. Ken's friendly demeanor and extensive knowledge about current trends, technology, and available vehicles make him a relatable figure in today's complex automotive marketplace.

In addition to his role at TechMobility Productions, Ken has founded two black-owned consumer-centric firms. The first is The AutoBuyer Plus Corporation, a vehicle purchase consulting firm. The second is the Motor News Media Corporation, a nationally syndicated automotive news, features, and photography service that caters to general interest daily newspapers across the United States.

Ken is also a founding member of the Black Automotive Media Group (BAMG). The group, which represents over 150 years of automotive journalistic experience, actively engages with the automotive industry to address issues affecting black automotive journalists and black-owned media companies. These issues include a lack of representation at press events, insufficient marketing and advertising support for various media outlets, and a lack of black individuals in automotive corporate and advertising agency positions.

In summary, Kenneth J. Chester Jr. is a seasoned automotive journalist, a successful entrepreneur, and a passionate advocate for representation and diversity in the automotive industry.

About Us:

Podcasting can be a highly siloed activity. There's a good reason for that -- there are a lot of tasks that go into just creating a podcast. But podcasting gets better when we collaborate with each other. We can learn from each other and grow, not to mention, we can motivate each other to keep going.

This is a safe, supportive, inclusive, local, casual monthly meetup-style group where we learn from each other and bounce ideas off of each other. The purpose of this group is community building and creative mind-sharing.
