Des Moines National Security Forum - U.S. Foreign Relations in an Era of Great Power Competition

In this presentation of the forum, David Oakley, Ph.D., and Simons Center Director Todd Schmidt, Ph.D., will host a fireside chat examining the current state of U.S. relations with its traditional post–World War II allies in the context of Great Power competition with Russia and China. The conversation will consider how these relationships are being affected by changes in the strategic environment, American domestic politics and priorities, and allies’ questions about the reliability and future direction of the U.S. It will explore what these developments mean not only for individual bilateral relationships, but also for the broader direction of American foreign policy and the U.S. role in the world.
Tickets are $35 per person, and include lunch.
