We are hosting a book signing on Saturday September 27th from 1-3pm with legendary creator and artist Denys Cowan. The book Graphic Samurai is as comprehensive visual retrospective of a nearly 50-year career in comics from one of the industry's visionary creators.Denys Cowan is a pre eminent creator of comic book universes (Milestone), memorable characters, an animation director and producer (Static Shock, The Boondocks) while showing his chops as an incredible storyteller in essential runs of legendary characters like Batman, the Black Panther, Deathlok and The Question. In the book, author and publisher Michael Stratford documents Denys discussing all aspects of his career as a young Black artist in Queens, New York who rose to be commonly regarded as one of the greatest African American comic book creators of all time and one of most highly regarded artists in the industry, regardless of his ethnicity.
Graphic Samurai spotlights Cowan's entire comic book career at DC, Marvel, Milestone, and elsewhere, including franchises like Batman, The Question, Black Panther, and Deathlok and Milestone creations like Hardware, Icon, Rocket, and Static.
