A full day hands-on course for nurses presented by Claudia Treweek, with 8 hours of verifiable CPD (6 hours on the day and 2 hours with submitted record of experience).The course will help dental nurses and hygienists’ professional development by teaching them the skills needed to take impressions of patients. Giving in-depth knowledge of dental impression materials and techniques, it will help increase their clinical participation and improve patient care. The course will provide an underpinning of theoretical knowledge, which will be further developed through practical application and case study work after the course.
Course Aim:
The aim of the course is to provide continued professional development training for registered dental nurses and hygienists, enabling them to competently undertake dental impressions in a wide range of applications including impression taking for prosthetics, orthodontics, whitening trays, study models and mouth guards.
Course Objectives:
• Increase delegates’ clinical participation by learning techniques from impression-taking that can be used in the surgery.
• Improved understanding of the restorative procedures that require the use of dental impressions.
• Improved knowledge of the dental materials used for impression-taking.
Course Outcomes:
• Demonstrate competency in safely and effectively taking dental impressions under the supervision of a dentist.
• Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of dental impression materials.
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the requirements for and use of dental impressions through set assignments.
Course Fee: £150 (+ VAT).
