Implant Dentistry: Principles & Clinical Applications
This lecture is designed to provide clinicians with a clear, practical framework for incorporating implant dentistry into everyday practice. The course begins with patient diagnosis and case selection, emphasizing risk assessment, medical considerations, and identifying cases appropriate for predictable implant treatment.
Attendees will learn the essentials of implant treatment planning, with a focus on prosthetically driven outcomes and long ‐ term success. Participants will be introduced to the principles of implant surgery, including an overview of surgical protocols and the role of guided implant surgery in improving accuracy, efficiency, and confidence.
The lecture will also cover basic bone grafting concepts and techniques to support implant stability and esthetic outcomes. Restorative considerations such as abutment selection and sequencing will be discussed, along w ith an introduction to the digital implant workflow—demonstrating how digital tools can simplify planning, enhance communication, and improve predictability from diagnosis through final restoration.
Hands-on exercises will include socket grafting as well as both freehand and guided implant placement.
Attendees will earn 5 CEU in the area of Implants (690).
At the conclusion of this lecture, participants will be able to:
- Describe the key components of comprehensive implant treatment planning, including prosthetically driven considerations.
- Explain the fundamental principles of implant surgery and the clinical benefits of guided implant surgery.
- Recognize indications for basic bone grafting and outline commonly used grafting materials and techniques.
