To mark Rail 200 and the 150th anniversary of the Settle & Carlisle Railway opening, the Neighbourhood Project CIC is carrying out a social research programme to capture people's memories and stories about the line and its stations. This will result in us producing a series of short videos in early 2026.
This event is the second of our 'memory banks' concerning the Settle & Carlisle Railway. It is to give people an opportunity to share their memories and stories about the line and its stations, both open and closed, and how they impacted on their lives and their communities.
The event is for people who want to share memories about the Dent and Garsdale stations. To provide an opportunity for people from both villages to attend, we have decided to hold this event in Sedbergh as it is accessible from both Dent and Garsdale. It will take place at Sedbergh People's Hall on Monday 13th October 2025, 1pm to 3pm - all welcome!
