DEN Cohort @ Peak Black Belt Training

The Black Belt Training is a 4-day in-depth training in process improvement tools and change management and is meant to immerse the participant in a rigorous, hands-on experience. We encourage DEN employees to enroll in seasonal cohort months, whenever possible. The first portion of the training takes place over three and a half consecutive days at the Denver Peak Academy, and the second portion is an additional half-day roughly one month later. You will be assigned a DEN Continuous Improvement coach upon enrollment, and this coach will support you with:

• Selecting and aligning your initiative to DEN's strategic vision using the 4-Step Improvement model prior to class.​​​​​​​
• Coaching you through the 4-Step Improvement Model.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Objectives​​​​​​​

• Cultivate innovative behaviors and mindsets
• Learn to identify waste, use gap tools, brainstorm then test solutions
• Engage your team in addressing a work process challenge
• Complete an initiative to receive your certification!

​​​​​​​Certification

• Complete the training prior to implementing your improvement. Better Together: DEN 2026 cohort months are March, June and September
• Successfully lead, document and measure at least one 4-Step Improvement initiative to receive your certification.
• Present your progress during the Black Belt Ignite Summit (approximately 1 month later).

Prerequisites

• Complete the Green Belt Certification Program​​​​​​​.
