Description: The media landscape continues to experience fragmentation, with an ever-expanding number of political influencers, podcasters, online platforms, and generative AI systems – all while traditional mass media has become more ideologically aligned. This event will bring together leading media and democracy scholars to explore how the fragmention media ecosystem is related to American democratic backsliding.
The Penn Center on Media, Technology, and Democracy works to better understand the information ecosystem through cutting-edge science, and leverages that research to strengthen the foundations of democracy.
