-----------------

Jennifer Disla, Senior Fellow at the Colin Powell School, invites students to join the Democracy Forward workshops – an interactive space to connect history, strategy, and action. With the New York City Mayoral election around the corner, now is the time for students to step into their role as changemakers.

These workshops dive into Practical Radicals, drawing inspiration from the Abolitionist movement of the 1700s–1800s, and explore seven bold strategies for building political power and unity.

Students will engage in lively discussions, share ideas, and map out what it takes to vote our values and shape the future. Along the way, Jennifer will link participants with local civic engagement groups where they can keep the momentum going beyond the classroom.
