Raise a glass to the laws that shaped our nation! In our October immersive cocktail class, history and mixology come together as we explore the landmark constitutional amendments and laws that have defined American democracy.

Step back in time with each pour, while Simon and Erin teach hands-on bartending techniques for you to craft historic cocktails—each tied to a pivotal moment in our shared history. Renée will introduce each drink:

• a classic from the spirited taverns of the Colonial era
• a popular drink of the Civil War era
• A drink that mirrors how democracy expanded in the evolving bar culture of post-war America

We're excited to welcome our guest speaker, Tom Hawley, professor of political science at EWU. Tom will explain the origins of these laws and how they were tested, challenged, and strengthened.

As we recharge our knowledge about the history of these key laws of our land and the tests they faced in the past, we'll discover what Americans drank in these three distinctive eras. By the end of the class, you'll know how to make and enjoy these historic drinks and see the Constitution in a new light: spirited, resilient, and worth toasting.

Our cocktail classes are hands-on, featuring bartending stations for each pair of guests. You'll grab onto a shaker, mixing glass, and bar spoon while learning mixology techniques. We'll explain the importance of each method as we guide you through the steps. Our team arrives early to press fresh juices, make syrups from scratch, and prepare all the ingredients needed for class drinks.
