After stealing the hearts of millions of South Africans in 2018 during her participation in the first season of Die Kontrak, Demi Lee Moore walked away as the winner of this popular reality show. At the end of the competition, Moore released her debut album, Mis Eet Slaap Herhaal, and it came as no surprise to the public that it achieved gold status within ten days of its release, and in the same breath she won five Ghoemas for the same album.
Demi was also a mentor on the third season of Die Kontrak, the same show that she won almost five years ago. It is a big pat on the back for Demi to be able to say that her protégé, Chris Steyn (Plakkies) was announced as the winner and is making waves in the industry under her mentorship.
With well-known versions of “Neon Moon,” “Amanda,” “Lei My Na Die Water” and three albums to her name, this Country singer has also achieved incredible success with music from her own pen in 2023. Moore’s latest single, Die Mooi In Jou, took the number one position on the Apple Music Afrikaans chart within one day and was barely a month old when it gained more than 2 million views on YouTube.
Demi released a brand new short album last year and is already working on something new. She is looking forward to continuing to tour the country with her music, with Barthlo, the love of her life, by her side.
