About this Event

Following on from a successful event in 2025, we are back and this year’s event will be more informative and better than ever.

Who is it for?:

People living with dementia and their carers, those supporting them (in a professional or voluntary capacity) and anyone concerned about their memory.

We would like to warmly invite you to our drop-in style event, facilitated by Care Development East. We’re proud to be supported by our headline sponsors: Leading Lives, Christies Care, Mindful Care Training & Consultancy, Suffolk County Council and Daisy Days.

The focus of the event will be to showcase the wide range of information, advice and support available to people living with dementia and their carers in Suffolk, to help people get the right support, from the right people, at the right time.

There will be a full range of speakers throughout the day, talking about a range of topics identified as most useful, by people living with dementia and their carers.

Speakers

  • 10:30–11:00 – Peter Berry & Deb Bunt – 'Living Well with Alzheimer’s' (Slow Puncture & Patching the Puncture Author) Peter and Deb share their powerful journey of living well with Alzheimer’s, offering honest reflections, practical coping strategies, and insights into friendship, resilience, and everyday life. Their books will also be available to purchase on the day.
  • 11:30–12:00 – Kate Thubron-BSc (Hons), Occupational Therapy, Director & Head of Dementia Care, Teepa Snow Positive Approach® to Care (PAC) Certified, Mindfulness Practitioner (MindfulCare Training & Consultancy)
  • 12:30–13:00 – Milly Gaskin, Dementia Project Development Officer (Leading Lives) – Key Skills for Care Resources

  • 14:00–14:30 – Nicola Bradford (Daisy Days, LimeSkills/LimeCare) – 'The value of therapeutic support and respite for family carers'.

Please note: each presentation runs only once, so do make sure you don’t miss the sessions you want to attend!

The event will consist primarily of marketplace stalls from organisations and groups supporting people living with dementia and their carers within Suffolk. Alongside the marketplace, there will also be keynote sessions on topics including how to live well with dementia from those with lived experience.

Stallholders open to visit: 10:10 - 3:00.

Activities room for people with Dementia open 10:00 - 3:00.

Activities Room:

The activities room will be a facilitated environment with activities for people with dementia to allow their carers time to look at the stalls and attend the presentations. It is free to attend, although not essential booking is strongly advised.

We’re also pleased to confirm the will be joining us - offering a powerful, hands-on experience to help people better understand what living with dementia may feel like, and how small changes can make a big difference. Also parked opposite will be the Rural Coffee Caravan, so do say hello and find out more.

Parking:

Ample free parking is available at the event centre, including Disabled Parking, and will be clearly signposted on arrival at the venue. A parking marshal will be there to help guide you.

Refreshments:

Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. Lunch will not be provided, however drinks and food can be purchased if required from the onsite bar area.
