About this Event
St.Amant is pleased to have, Melanie Crabbe, an NTG-Canada Affiliated Provincial Trainer providing this training, which uses the NTG-Canadian Consortium Dementia modules.
This 9-part series covers health care advocacy, aging and how dementia affects adults with intellectual disabilities. It teaches how to make quality observations, recognize age-related changes, and understand the progression of dementia. It introduces the NTG-EDSD screening tool and emphasizes the role of caregiver input. The modules also address creating dementia-friendly environments, applying key concepts and understanding responsive behaviors to better support individuals through proactive, flexible approaches.
In this module, you will learn how to tell the difference between intellectual disability and dementia, recognize early warning signs and understand how diagnosis works for adults with intellectual disabilities. It also gives an overview of the stages of dementia and how to prepare to support people affected by it.
This is part five of the 9-Part Dementia Care Series from the NTG Canadian Consortium.
- There is no single sign-up for this 9-part series.
