Dementia Awareness Day

Home Instead South Lakes and Heron Hill Care Home are delighted to bring Dementia Awareness Day to Beetham Nurseries for the fourth consecutive year.
Join us for a day dedicated to raising awareness, sharing knowledge and connecting people with local support. Experience the Virtual Dementia Tour, an immersive and eye-opening insight into what living with dementia may feel like, and discover the support available to individuals, families and carers across our community.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet local support organisations, collect free information packs and speak to experts about dementia, diagnosis and available services. New for this year, we are also hosting a Dementia Information Talk from 3:00pm–4:30pm in the marquee.
In Cumbria, around 7,800 people aged 65 and over are currently living with dementia, and this number is expected to rise significantly in the coming years. Early diagnosis and access to support can make a real difference, and this event aims to help people find the information and guidance they need.
Last year's event was extremely popular, so we recommend booking your Virtual Dementia Tour slot in advance. While you're here, take time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and refreshments available at Beetham Nurseries.
To book your place, visit our online booking page here https://www.trybooking.com/uk/GOJL or call 01539 267220.
