Delivering Therapy - the Weaving of Skills and Wisdom
While the techniques and processes can be learnt on training courses, the art of therapy – delivering skilfully and professionally, can take many years to acquire.
With 25 years of therapy experience, including private practice, palliative and end of life care, carers’ support, corporate mental health training as well as working with NHS, the emergency services and military veterans, I offer a unique and personable approach to therapy.
The demand and need for Complementary Therapies is expanding rapidly in all arenas of life, we are at the start of an incredible wave of change.
In fact I believe deeply that the skills you gain on this course could be better entitled "The Art of Life" as they apply to all aspects of our lives and can further enhance everything we do - personally as well as professionally.
This therapeutic skills training comes in 2 levels and both are open to all energy healing and energy psychology therapists and practitioners, whatever tool kit of qualifications you may have (* EFT, TFT, Hypnotherapy, Reiki, Energy Healing, Healing Touch, Vibrational Healing and more – please get in touch if you’d like to check whether this course would be suitable for your current therapies
This course is delivered as a one day Level 1 (on Friday) for students and newly qualified practitioners.
Level 2 is combined with Level 1 (Friday to Sunday) for all who wish to attend, to ensure all foundations are embedded before deeping into the advanced learnings of Level 2.
Delivering Therapy – Level 1
This first level course is for students and practitioners fairly new to the therapy world (usually less than 2 years’ experience or those returning to therapy after a career break) – where they wish to gain wisdom and experience of the subtle nuances of delivery.
This course includes:
• How to gain confidence in your therapy - to ensure access for all
• Self care for you as the practitioner
• Pre, during and post a session - the "what to do" list
• How to create the right environment for a session
• How to be fully present for your client - the skills of rapport, listening and calibration
• The energetic understanding of health – the effects of stress versus rest
• The power of bridging language - the importance of the words you use
• The art of questions - learning the skill of considerate and appropriate questioning
• When you encounter difficulties in a session - what next?
• Client scenarios - how to manage the unexpected
• Legal and ethical requirements to delivering therapy
• Opportunity to create your own personal therapy plan
• An optional 30 minute call with me to run through further questions and plans post the course reflections (additional charge)
• Delivering Therapy – Level 1 & Level 2 Combined
The second level is for advancing practitioners (usually 2 years plus, depending on experience) who wish to further enhance their skills, maybe specialise in more challenging areas or develop further client-based techniques and approaches so they can excel in their own therapy field.
I bring experience and knowledge of a vast array of therapies, not only those I am personally qualified in, also those therapies I supported in our Complementary Therapy team as Hospice Therapy Lead. Now fully in private practice and training, I am dedicated to assisting practitioners from all areas of energy healing to create the bridging language and approaches essential to being accepted and integrated within the wider health and wellbeing arena.
Level 2 includes:
• How to expand your therapy base to the ever-changing world
• How to ensure your environment supports optimal outcome in sessions
• Advanced Bridging Language - the power of words to reach all
• Advanced therapeutic techniques to weave within your own skill base
• How to support clients with chronic pain and other long term conditions
• Introduction to more specialised topics (PTSD/C-PTSD, Serious Life Conditions, End of Life and Grief) - how to best support your clients
• Client scenarios - advanced approaches to complex issues
• How to adapt your approach for integrative health or commercial settings
• How to create and develop self-help groups and workshops
• How to explore opportunities to broaden your impact in your community
• An optional 30 minute call with me to run through further questions and plans post the course reflections (additional charge)
